Paid Inclusion Tips And Tricks

One important aspect of paid inclusion is determining whether or not your site makes a good candidate.

Joe Laratro of http://www.morevisibility.com says sites that should consider paid inclusion are:

  • Sites with dynamic content or sites that are not easily crawled by search;

  • Sites containing a lot of content or requiring payment or a login to access certain content;

  • Sites that are not being indexed for some other reason;

  • Sites that need quick results and are willing to pay, rather than waiting to be found

  • Yahoo's paid inclusion program came out of a combination of customer need and the growing expense of running the search engine. Yahoo is also beginning to interact with search engine marketers and affiliates - when just a few years ago the two sides were at odds with each other.

    There have been arguments that paid inclusion affects search relevance but Yahoo representative Tim Mayer said at the Webmasterworld PubConference that Yahoo's paid inclusion program currently makes up less than 1% of the Yahoo index. Mayer also argued that there are many positive reasons behind paid inclusion, such as dynamic content inclusion and building better relationships with content providers.
